Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking here a bit, and reading all of your tales has convinced me that I have found the right boat for me. I put my order in last week, and it should ship next Wednesday.

As many of you have already done, I plan to document my progress on my website so that others may learn from my experience inevitable mistakes.

I also wanted to thank all of you for sharing your experiences so that I could finally make my decision.

- Eric

Thank you all for your warm welcome. I'm quite excited to begin this project now that I have a few weeks off.

However, my excitement has led to a little frustration. I initially received an estimated shipping date of Aug 20. When that came and went, I inquired about my order and received a prompt reply and apology saying that it should ship today and I should receive an email with tracking information late this afternoon. After depleting my battery by checking my email 100 times since noon, it seems unlikely I will receive that email today.

My question is this; is this typical of CLC? What have been your experiences with estimated/actual shipping times?

I know I should just be patient, but I have some time off and still have the eager enthusiasm that I'm sure hours of sanding will soon cure.

I have never had a bad situation arise in my dealings with CLC. I'm sure that John Harris the CEO would want to know about this. I would call and ask for him directly. He has always been #1 in customer service and would hate a black eye in this area.
CLC is readying for their annual boat show on the road, but that would be no excuse for not following up with you.
Call John, and I'm sure that he will make it right.
All the best,
Kyle

Update: After one more inquiry, I finally received my shipping info. (it seems it was being held up by a piece of cedar for a yard in the sail kit)

Anyway, it is now on it's way and I think next time I would order the sail kit separately just to keep things simple.

I have no beef with CLC, they have responded to every email promptly, I would only suggest a slightly more proactive approach in the future.
