Selling my partially finished Skerry. Just cant find the time and have broken down and bought a finished boat to put in the water. Some of the work was professionally done and what I have done has been very meticulous, and painfully slow as well. I will send pics if you are interested. Located in Los Angeles. Sorry to hear you have decided to abandon the completion of your Skerry, Stein. Yes, it does take much longer to buld if you determine to do it to the very best of your ability.

Jim and I have been plodding away off ond on for some 3 years now and our Skerry is just about completed except for some finishing touches and a few additional coats of varnish...

Just last year, however, we bit the bullet and went out and bought a fully outfitted power boat (Carolina SeaChaser) for cruising the beautiful waters of the Chesapeake Bay. And now we have just completed our elementary course in learning the art of sail. We are about to pack our Skerry away and are already looking forward to next spring.

I would venture to say that building your own vessel is more about the journey and pride of craftsmanship than anything else. If you can find a way to sail your unfished Skerry to the East Coast, we might be willing to buy it as a tender for our Serenity. (Just kidding, of course.)

Hopefully you will want to get back to the project during the cold and dreary months ahead.
One boat is never enough anyhow.

Blue skies and fair winds,
Bill & Jim Vitale
Chesapeake Bay, Maryland
