Well, I flipped the boat over, drew a centerline and drilled a 1/2inch hole. errrr . .off center by 1/8 inch. The inside wall is tangent to the hole, exactly. hmmmm, if the daggerboard is offcenter, but parallel to the centerline, then it should still be OK. Afterall, boats like a "Sea Pearl" have lee boards that are way off center. There are a lot of boats that have their centerboards offcenter next to the keel.
I'm assuming that being off 1/8 inch is not going to be detrimental to the operating characteristics of this boat. I flipped it to sand and start PAINTING! I'm using Kirbies paints, as I used to live in New Bedford, MA and thought it would be nice to have boat paint from a real old seafaring town. (and they say it's good paint) How do I post pictures? |
