Does anyone store their Skerry outdoors with a cover and if so, how is the boat finish holding up?

Hi Island Dave ~ I have held off answering you because I was waiting for other Skerriers to answer re: outside storage of their Skerries.
Last year, I made some Sunbrella covers for some on this Forum, so I was hoping that you would have heard from them. So far, no takers...but I personally feel that an appropriately covered Skerry would fare well outside without problem. The main thing is to protect from standing water and UV, both easily accomplished with a proper cover.

I will probably paint the bottom and store the boat upside down outdoors covered with a waterproof tarp. Do you think this would be adequate?

Poor "ET BUGABOO" has found her spot in the garage taken over by the catboat I brought home. While I'm sure her feelings have been hurt, I don't love her any less and there doesn't appear to be any physical harm done.

I use a tarp that has a reflective side and face that side out, to keep the temp under the tarp from getting too high. Also, be sure there is plenty of air circulation underneath.

Hi Island Dave, I bought a cover from Kyle and am very happy with her attension to detail. I keep my Skerry in a barn that I rent. The roof leaks and there is a lot of dust, but the cover really helps keep the boat clean. I highly recommend buying one of her covers. Mike

Kyle aslo made a cover for our Skerry. It fits like a glove and we are more than pleased with her meticulous work. We took some pictures to post here but I never did get the hang of the procedure.

We wouldn't hink of trailering our Skerry without the cover and it makes for a fine protection during the off season.

Hi Kyle, I am interested in one of your covers, unfortunately I cannot figure out how to send you a private message or an email. If you know how to do this please contact me or if you can't I will post my email address. Thanks.

I have used my Skerry all winter when there has not been ice or to windy. I live on the South River just south of Annapolis, MD. I pull my Skerry out of the water and turn it over after each use. Just had a boat lift installed and now looking to have a cover made. Need to do some minor work but not from the weather but scrapping the bottom pulling the boat onto my dock. I had the river all to myself all winter. It was great. With spring comes the motor folks.
