I am interested to know how long it has taken the average skerry bulder to finish a kit build. Please feel free to enter your build time below indicating the reason for any significant delays (i.e. twin baby girls would no doubt distort average build time). I am sure that your input would be helpful for anyone, like me who is hoping to get their boat built by a particular date.
...Yes, I am still waiting for the kit. |

Five months. Took a month off to make covers for other Skerriers...it was too cold to epoxy.
I took my time and enjoyed the process along the way, but I did spend a lot of time on weekends and in the evenings after work. Kyle |

8 months.... while engaged in a more-than-full-time vocation. Started in mid-October, launched in early June.

started in january, finished in august... full time student, so worked when i could justify not studying.
fear of making ugly mistakes is what slowed me down the most. but in hindsight, the things i dragged my feet on mattered less than the things i rushed through! waiting to get a trailer and warm weather to get more use this season. car topped it twice and that got old after the first time. |

I think it was late August to early May or so, working weekends and some evenings.

Sell your phone, television and other distractions and you'll finish much faster. Working in very cold conditions will mean longer curing times and stopping two days to let a piece harden can easily turn into two weeks or a month.
