Linda and I just got back from a trip up to Bowman and Kintla lakes in northwestern Glacier National Park
It was quite a drive, but well worth it since few people visit these lakes compared to other more popular destinations in the park. Here's a little artsy video of the trip. This message has been edited. Last edited by: David Bixby, |

Cool video David. Do you guys carry a firearm for the cats and bears?

Thanks you guys.
Linda and I carried a can of bear spray which is standard procedure for most visitors to the Glacier back country. We didn't see any bears ourselves on this trip, but it seems everyone we met in the area had just seen a bear somewhere nearby. We did watch a pack of coyotes in the twilight cutting a deer out of a herd and chasing it down. The rest of the deer came to its defense, and there were moments when we weren't sure if we were about to see the death of a deer or a coyote. In the end, it was a stalemate and the coyotes went hungry. The bear footprint in the video is superimposed over the relatively fresh foot prints of the hikers who used the trail just prior to us. There are sharper versions of the images in the video on my Flickr sight: pictures This message has been edited. Last edited by: David Bixby, |
