A timeless messing about in boats (or boat) story from the late 1800's. If you appreciate English humor, you'll enjoy the dry, yet whitty humor of the author as he describes the presumably true mishaps of he and his chums as they vacation in a boat up the Thames.

You can read it for yourself here

I just finished this book not two months ago. The preface compared JKJ's humor with that of Mark Twain, and rightly so. It is glimpse into a different world that is just to darn familiar. There is a great description of road rage in a row boat that points out just how little human nature has changed even as our technology out paces us. It is a good book, a short read, and the copy that the libratry gave me had to be fifty or more years old. And that was a treat in and of itself.
