This book is a blend of Rushton’s biography and a history of American canoeing and its culture. It references many articles from the premier American sporting magazine of the late 1800's, "Forest and Stream". Particularly useful are the line drawings and table of offsets for 7 of Rushton's designs.

Anyone who is interested in the sport of paddling when it was about exploration and cruising (i.e. before it became all about speed) should read this book.
